Amazing Indiana Music StoriesOur exhibit at the Indiana State Library has ended, but you are invited to visit our Indiana Music History Gallery at 1305 Broad Ripple Avenue to see these and even more Amazing Indiana Music Stories.  Open Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm, lower level of Flanner Buchanan.  Free parking in back of building.

Broad Ripple Art Walk

Join us on Saturday, May 4 from 2-6pm for the Broad Ripple Art Walk sponsored by Eight Eleven Group! The Broad Ripple Art Walk is a self-guided tour that features exhibits including the IMHP. Enjoy this opportunity for a wonderful afternoon experiencing Broad Ripple and supporting the arts community.

The gallery was recently reorganized and there are new displays up. Come browse Indiana Music History exhibits and park in our free lot!

Local Food vendor Hungry Hippie Hot Dogs will be on site. Purchase ahigh-quality steamed hot dogs with all the toppings, chips, and drinks.

Help us repair the Little Free Music Library.

Little Free Music Library

The Little Free Music Library that was donated to the IMHP last summer was recently vandalized. This unique Little Free Library has a focus of spreading Indiana music. We are working to repair it and restore it to a more secure location as part of a new interactive display inside the IMHP.

An online resource dedicated to documenting all Indiana musicians, artists, recordings, and music businesses from the earliest days of recorded history to the present.

Indiana Music Radio

A 24/7 streaming radio station featuring 100% Indiana music recordings across all genres, localities, and time frames.

Indiana Music Collection & Digital Archive

We are trying to obtain copies of every Indiana music release on LP, 45, cassette, CD, and 78, along with music posters, flyers, and memorabilia related to Indiana music. We are also digitizing the physical music collection and building an archive of images and recordings, which will be online and accessible to the public.

 

Gennett Suite

We are the fiscal sponsor and promotional partner for the Gennett Suite project, an original composition by Brent Wallarab based on 1920’s recordings at Richmond’s Gennett Studios. The Gennett Suite is available on compact disc, vinyl LP, and digitally. We are proud partners with Timeless Music in this endeavor.

Hoagy Carmichael Award for Excellence in Jazz Composition

Inaugurated in 2022, the award is a $3,000 scholarship provided to a selected Indiana University jazz student, in association with the family of Hoagy Carmichael. We are the fiscal sponsor and promotional partner.
